Monochromatic ensembles, in almost every color it seems, have been dominating the runways as of late. Last month I brought you the white on white look. Well, this season, black is having a moment.
At the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Days in Zurich, Switzerland , models strutted in full-on black leather looks in Arzu Kaprol’s show. This look can come off a bit harsh, so to work it your own way, look for smoother lines and silhouettes.
The first Kaprol-inspired look I put together includes these stunning leather shorts from Mango.com for $109.99. Pair those show-stopping shorts with this versatile faux leather panel top from Forever 21 for only $17.80. And to top off the look, H&M sells these strappy heels for $49.95 (you’ll be wearing these again and again!) Keep the look simplistic by not adding any excess jewelry.
The second Kaprol-inspired look is all about leather with structure. I picked this CO vegan leather peplum tank top from Urban Outfitters for $89 and this leather pencil skirt from H&M for $99. By pairing these two pieces together, this look can stun on any size. For a classy shoe, try these patent cone heel pumps from Forever 21 for $22.80. Once again, leather IS your jewelry here, don’t overpower the look.
The last Kaprol-inspired look I put together all about leather and movement. A dress can be made out of leather and still be soft and flowing. I picked this Mango.com suede and leather dress, on sale for $144.99. Since this dress is a V-neck, this is a perfect opportunity to wear a long necklace. So try something like this Mango.com buffalo pendant necklace, also on sale for $11.99. Then, to match the gold necklace and to add a little umph to the look, get these rockin’ metallic trim slingbacks from Forever 21 for only $27.80! These shoes are killer and will be your best friend in a fashion bind.
