Charmosa Swimwear is the Bay Area's best kept secret. With everything from exotic bikinis to lavish one-pieces and more, you are definitely going to want to frequent this amazing establishment before traveling to your next destination. Recently, I had the opportunity to talk to Neide Hall, the founder of this amazing brand. Here is what she had to tell me...
(Q) Hello Neide. How are you? Tell me a little more about your Charmosa Swimwear...
I created Charmosa with the goal of making a better bikini. My couture collection involves hand painted patterns, hand embroidered embellishments, and unique designs that are not only gorgeous to look at, but fit well when you put them on. My designs stand out with respect to others and frequently attract compliments to the wearer.
(Q) I am curious, what inspired you to create Charmosa Swimwear?
My inspiration is the women and Brazil for all of my designs. I am inspired by the women because I want them to feel confident and look amazing in my creations. This has not been simple to achieve. I believe that my experience in the fashion industry provides me with the right understanding about how to combine the best fabric, unique handcrafts, and hand embroidered accents. The result is modern designs that are timeless. This special combination is making Charmosa get noticed in fashion shows, fashion weeks, magazines and blogs.
(Q) Tell me a little more about the inspiration behind the brand...
When I decided to create Charmosa, I knew that I wanted it to be special. I wanted Charmosa to be a couture company where my costumers would be certain that their swimsuit is not a copy of what other companies are offering. I can assure the uniqueness of Charmosa's hand painted and hand embroidered designs. I'm also excited about our new sublimation process that uses my own photography to create the patterns on the fabric. I'll be presenting this new process at the Swim Collective Trade Show and Phoenix Fashion Week in the coming months. I am also proud to be a Brazilian Couture Swimwear Company.
(Q) I think it is amazing that you worked in the industry as a model before becoming a designer and business owner.
Yeah, I did that when I was living in Brazil. Being a model made me appreciate the work of a designer. The transformation that takes place from fabric to art, the emotion that you put into each piece. It is an amazing experience for me.
(Q) You are bringing a lot of the Brazilian culture into your swimwear, which I find to be so amazing.
Yes, I do. I love to bring the most amazing hand crafted work into my designs. I have lived here in the USA for almost 13 years, but I still get a lot influence from Brazil. The United States has served as some inspiration too, though. For example, I have a hand painted print that was inspired by the Red Rocks Park near Las Vegas.
(Q) Out of all of the styles you produce, which styles are the most popular? Tell me a little more about your best sellers...
I find the hand-painted designs to be the best sellers. When my customers have a new trip scheduled, it's common for them to purchase another hand-painted design. Another design that has been popular is the Porto de Galinhas bikini, which has over 300 hand-embroidered flowers on the top.
(Q) What are the hottest Summer swimwear trends right now?
Charmosa! Our Brazilian Couture Swimwear are charming the beaches one bikini at a time.
(Q) Charmosa is truly hitting the runway scene. What events do you have coming up?
Yes, we have a busy schedule. I'm one of 14 emerging designers to compete for the title of the designer of the year for Phoenix Fashion Week. I'll be there in August presenting 4 new designs from the 2014/15 collection. I'll be back in Phoenix form October 02 through 4th for the big Fashion Week to present 12 looks total. Also, I'll be presenting my line at Swim Collective in Southern California from August 12th to 14th.
Phoenix Fashion week 2014 event will be held on October 2nd through 4th, 2014, at Talking Stick Resort, Scottsdale, AZ and is expected to attract over 60,000 people.
I am a swimwear sponsor and Judge for the Great American Pageant Contest held in August where my husband, Greg, will be representing me. I'm also a swimwear sponsor for The Miss Sacramento Pageant held in Sacramento in September.
(Q) When someone approaches you and says "Neide, I love your swimwear. It has changed my life." How do you feel when you hear this feedback?
It really makes me feel amazing. Not only because I made a woman feel sexy and confident, but because I played a small part in a special time in their life, when they were happy, relaxed, and with people they care about. That's priceless.
(Q) For all of those fashion enthusiasts reading this interview, what would you like them to know? What is next for Charmosa Swimwear?
I'd like them to know that my swimwear not only looks great, but the fit and durability are also excellent. My swimwear can be purchased risk-free on the Charmosa website, http://www.charmosaswimwear.com, and at several boutiques around California. As for the future, I've been thinking about a collection for men.
