This week on ‘Fashion Star,’ the contestants were challenged to design a sexy outfit. All of the designers were giving their teams lectures on the difference between sexy and trashy. The designers said it is a fine line between what is sexy and what is trashy, so make sure to stay on the right side of the line. From the creations that a buyer picked up it was clear, some grasped the concept of sexy vs. trashy. JesseRay and Garrett created a couple amazing dresses with a basket weave detail to the skirt. Amber created a backless white dress with sheer white sleeves. Daniel created an edgy slash cut dress with skin colored fabric underneath. Cassandra created a periwinkle blue sheer midi (mid-length) dress that uses some of this season’s trends.
Our friend Brandon did not do as well as last week. None of the buyers was interested in his pieces. He designed a sport coat inspired by James Bond. It had a unique techno look, but he could have made it so much better. John Varvatos tried to advise him that he should use a different type of fabric and color, but Mr. Scott was adamant about his fabric choices.
