Neiman Marcus, Beverly Hills Runway show at Fashion's Night Out
Now, it just so happens that my private jet was having some complications prior to taking off on my way to Paris... So... I ended up staying in Los Angeles for the event of the year! Fashion’s Night Out, a global initiative. Anna Wintour’s answer to help the fashion industries economic woes. Go shopping! With parties, celebrities, designers, and everyone’s favorite... free cocktails, this was an evening for the record books. And as I bopped from event to event, store to store, Wilshire to Robertson to Melrose, I couldn’t help but think, I hope my feet last in these heels!
The Los Angeles edition of Fashion’s Night Out kicked off at Neiman Marcus with Lisa Love and Lauren Howell, Vogue’s West Coast Editor, and Fashion Editor, respectively, speaking about Fall fashion trends . If you didn’t walk away with purchasing a chunky jeweled necklace, or something red to add to your wardrobe, you’d be remiss. But over all, fab fashion shows, chic book signings and was that Keifer Southerland I saw? Yes!
Next stop on the evenings fashion journey was the illustrious Robertson Blvd. With events at Moods of Norway, Rock and Republic, and Ted Baker you can’t go wrong where you went. At Moods of Norway, shoppers devoured freshly made, sugary waffles, while a hilarious tractor race commenced. At Rock and Republic, enter to dark lighting, chic ambiance, and a rockin’ crowd sipping champagne, shopping and patiently awaiting free makeovers with R & R’s new makeup collection. Swing by Ted Baker for upbeat atmosphere, an energetic DJ and the epitome of LA cool schoomze.
And finally to top off the night was, what felt like a raging party, at Fred Segal on Melrose with live music from local musicians, open bars, and LA’s fashionistas. With a list of almost 20 special appearances, games, and demonstrations, it was sensory overload. But dressed to the nines in true LA chic, men and women packed in, hoping to catch a glimpse of Pete Wentz, take a picture with Cobrasnake, ask questions to stylists from MTV’s Styl’d, eat some candy with Rory Beca, get Chan Luu to personally tie your new Chan Luu wrist wraps and learn to shred your Paige Denim Jeans with Paige herself. This was only the half of it.
It took some fashionable footwork to attend all these events! I guess that’s why I am a pro. From your Editor-in-chic...I’ll see you on the streets!
