Fashion’s biggest annual celebration (outside of Fashion week, of course) is back again in Charlotte—Fashion’s Night Out! On September 8th, from 6pm to 10pm, Hendrick Motors of Charlotte-Mercedes Benz and Effie Loukas (of Lotus boutique) will host the 2nd annual FNO fête. Numerous boutiques, makeup professionals and salons will showcase their distinctive visions on a glamorous runway at the Metropolitan, located at 1224 Metropolitan Ave., in the Midtown area of Charlotte.
Fashion’s Night Out originated in New York City in 2009, during the onset of the economic downturn. The CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) and Vogue magazine collaborated and presented the nation with a night filled with fun and fashion to help stimulate the economy by encouraging patrons to return to retail shopping.
FNO is not only a national event, but also worldwide, that runs in conjunction with New York’s Fashion Week. Locally in Charlotte, this will prepare the city for Charlotte Fashion Week 2011, at the end of this September. Proceeds from this year's FNO-Charlotte will benefit Zero Cancer-Great Prostate Cancer Challenge-Charlotte 2011. Tickets are still on sale and can be purchased through www.Bandtastic.com.
