Estee Lauder and Derek Lam to Launch Exclusive Makeup Collection
The word's out: cosmetic giant Estee Lauder and designer Derek Lam will be launching a collaborative makeup collection. The collection will feature a limited edition 5-piece palette that will include eyeliner, eyeshadow, and mascara. Already making its runway debut for the Derek Lam S/S14 show during New York Fashion week, the collection is creatively coined by designer Derek Lam and Estee Lauder's creative make-up director Tom Pecheux. It will be available at Estee Lauder makeup counters nationwide in January 2014.
The Row Coming to Los Angeles
Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen's fashion line The Row will be making its way to Los Angeles. Plans are underway to develop a Flasgship LA boutique featuring the high-end wears, this will be the first retail store for the sisters, as they recently revealed during a Net-a-Porter dinner party in London. The store will open its doors sometime in the Spring 2014, no word yet on the exact location.
Candice Swanepoel Chosen as the Next Model to Wear the VS Fantasy Bra
That $10 million dollar bejeweled Victoria Secret bra that women have fantasized about wearing at one point or another-- yeah that, well South African model Candice Swanepoel can count her lucky stars as she is the latest VS model selected to wear the coveted bra. Swanepoel follows a long list of VS models to wear the outlandish bra, including Tyra Banks, Adrianna Lima and Giselle Budchen. The bra will make its official debut on the pages of the Victoria Secret Dreams and Fantasies Catalog out October 23, and the annual Victoria Secret Runway on December 10th.
H&M to Open Flagship Store at DTLA
DTLA will soon have a new retail neighbor in town. H&M has announced it will be opening a flagship store in DTLA in the Spring of 2014. The store will be the West Coast cousin to the New York H&M flagship store located in 34th St. The mega store is set to be 32,000 square feet of retail space, selling H&M apparel, accessories, shoes, lingerie, beauty products and kids clothing. Look out for the opening at Fig at 7th in Downtown Los Angeles.
Angela Ahrendts Set to Leave Burberry to Take on New Role at Apple
In trending news, Burberry CEO Angela Ahrendts will be stepping down as CEO of Burberry to take on a new role at Apple. The news comes as a surprise to many considering Ahrendts is leaving Burberry, a fashion company, for Apple, an information technology based corporation, many also credit Ahrendts for Burberry's turnaround success. In a statement released to the Press, Ahrendts states, "“I am profoundly honored to join Apple in this newly created position next year, and very much look forward to working with the global teams to further enrich the consumer experience on and offline. I have always admired the innovation and impact Apple products and services have on people’s lives and hope in some small way I can help contribute to the company’s continued success and leadership in changing the world." The current chief creative officer at Burberry, Christopher Bailey will replace Ahrendts when she officialy steps down in mid-2014.
