The red carpet was sizzling on Sunday February 24th for the 85th Annual Academy Awards. Everyone has been talking about Jennifer Lawrence's dress, which was a massive princess number. Amy Adams wore a huge, train dragging, ruffled confection, and Nicole Kidman went for a full body of shimmering sequins.
While there were some pretty things (I loved Georgina Chapman's classical maternity gown), I didn't feel as if there was enough to really get excited about. I spent a few days reading a book about Oscar dresses called Made For Each Other by Bronwyn Cosgrave, and it made me want to showcase some other Oscar fashions that we may have forgotten about. Not like we could forget about Cher and her amazing Bob Mackie costumes, but still.
Charlize Theron wore white beautifully this year, but remember when Courtney Love wore that Versace with the angel wings? Do you realize that Nicole Kidman stuns pretty much every year? Jennifer Hudson has become a force in the last few years, and even when Anne Hathaway makes a mistake she's perfect.
