Looking for something sexy to set the mood for Valentine's Day? Or for a great excuse for a fun night out with the girls? Stop by FAME Digest's Valentine's Lingerie Fashion Show at Bar Fly this Friday, February 12. The show will feature sexy lingerie by local designers Gigi L'Amour of Dillinger Ink and Rachel Hoover of Denuda Veleno.
Gigi L'Amour adds a touch of glamour to her designs influenced by the feminine looks of the 1940s. She fell into fashion, she says, through her love of photography and slight obsession with the film noir era. Expect to see corsets, 40s style garter belts, and waist pieces with vintage inspiration in the style of the always sexy pinup. Mme L'Amour, who says she could spend hours looking at the work of Gil Elvgren, is drawn to the details, "the back seam stockings, the suspender garters, the way the lines of the clothing and lingerie fall." Her collection is sure to be both sexy and romantic!
Striving to make every woman (and man) feel sexy and beautiful is what drives Rachel Hoover's work. She is inspired by burlesque and the art of striptease, finding empowerment in the confidence it takes. Her collection will play with color, texture and pattern with the idea of "stripping" in mind. Look for a booth on site Friday, to take a look at the creations up close, and purchase the pieces you love. Denuda Veleno will be offering an extra 25% off to examiner.com readers. If you can't find the perfect piece, Ms. Hoover also does custom work and counts Nadine Dubois of Lil's Burlesque and local hip-hop artist Maria Isa among her fans.
Doors will open at 8:00pm, and the show will begin around midnight. Whether you have a date this Valentine's Day, or you're single, this show is sure to be fun for any sexy fashionista.
The event has an $8.00 cover if you're 21+ and $10.00 for those 18 to 21. From 9-11 any coin gets you any drink, so come early!
