Fashion industry meets philanthropy in Miami

Miami has recently earned its spot as one of the top cities for fashion but what people don’t know is the diverse city is also known for its acts of charity. Cat Walk for Charity 2014 last week’s runway for a cause was presented by Breakfast with Santa and their goal is raise awareness to Haiti and the poverty and violence that effects their children.

The event was held at the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel, Sunday June 8th, 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. Supermodel, Lydia Hearst and Brian J. White hosted this special occasion.

The event offered a variety of luxurious prizes to bid on during cocktail hour. Various celebrity guests dressed to impress. Michelle Pooch, well-known DJ was the first to walk the red carpet and strike a pose in an all-white Nicole Miller dress. Supermodel and Housewife of Atlanta cast member, Cynthia Bailey was the next on the scene, supporting a fierce hairstyle. Tatyana Ali, American singer and actress, also made her way down the velvet floor. Housewives of Miami, Joanna Krupa and Karent Sierra, both in Nicole Miller printed dresses made an appearance at the charity venue.

Also in attendance, was Miami Fashion Network, South Florida’s only garment center, that features upcoming designers and creative professionals, much like Gustavo Cadile, an ideal candidate for their services. The designer, who featured his eveningwear collection, focused on brilliant reds, midnight, blues, off whites and mysterious black tones. Lace and sparkles were the main theme throughout.

Seasoned NY designer, Nicole Miller showcased new designs like: her usual gathered cocktail dresses some in solids and prints and more casual leather pant and top looks. A graduate from The Rhode Island School of Design, she has dressed celebrities like Angelina Jolie, Beyoncé and many more.

Inside the ballroom roundtables with gorgeous floral centerpieces, cascading sparkly crystals and gift bags, surrounded a long central runway. Brunch was served as the models took to catwalk while everyone sipped champagne and enjoyed supporting an amazing cause.
