What do high end designers and football have in common? Usually nothing, but this is no ordinary year for football's biggest game of the season. Super Bowl XLVIII is right around the corner and New Jersey and New York are gearing up to have the big game right here in the cold!
For the first time ever the Super Bowl will be held in an outdoor arena in a cold climate state. MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey will be hosting the event and everyone in New York and New Jersey are getting ready to party.
So, when the biggest sporting event of the year is being held across the Hudson from the biggest fashion city in the country, things get a little fabulous. Forty-eight football helmets have been designed by CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) designers, and the results are amazing!
The helmets are being auctioned off in hopes of raising money for the National Football League. The CFDA and Bloomingdale's are auctioning off the helmets, click here for more information.
The Superbowl is usually the one game of the year that everyone watches, football fan or not. There are office pools, and Superbowl parties and many other reasons why non-football fans would enjoy watching. Now, if only the players wore these wonderfully done designer helmets, which would give those fashionistas one more reason to watch the big game.
