Yay, the gorgeous weather is back! If you've been waiting the past couple of days to finally get outside, wait no more. The forecast for this Saturday promises a clear day with very cool lows in the lower sixties and a wonderfully spring low eighties. Humidity after all this rain will be low, so break out your hair scarves!
This weekend offers a lot of great opportunities to enjoy the fabulous weather and get outdoors. Haute Wheels Houston, the first ever food truck festival, will take place both Saturday and Sunday at Houston Community College West Look South. What to Wear
Anyone and everyone will make a cameo at this all-out food fest, so looking your best is a must (but when is it not?!). The weather dictates brights and light layers, so try a short-sleeve cardigan over a simple tank and shorts with wedges topped off with a brightly-colored skinny belt. A romper is a great option - it's easy, usually comes with a stretchable waistline, and looks fabulously put-together in one piece. Add bright flat sandals and a fun, light scarf to summon more fabulous spring weather. (Click here to see a sample outfit.) Dresses are huge this season, so stop by one of your favorite local boutiques like Contents or Em and Lee to find your perfect Haute Wheels garb.
With all the culinary delights you will experience, from hot dogs to Mexican food and everything in between, you'll need to consider some practical style, as well. Skip bottoms that are too binding or tight - you've gotta make room for all those fabulous eats! With lots of eating, comes lots of spilling (at least, when I excitedly visit such festivals), so leave your whites at home and stick to simple cottons drenched in colors or prints.
Also, you'll be doing a lot of walking, so wedges are the most practical if you want the height though flats, sandals and sneakers make the most sense. You might sweat a little as the event goes on if the temps surprisingly jump a little higher, so carry a bandana with you as an accessory and to wick away happy beads of perspiration from your brow.
