More exciting than Downton Abbey, more talented than all the Gleeks, able to leap over The New Girl in a single bound! Smash is coming back!

Last season, Smash debuted and snatched up audiences like Nicki Minaj snatches wigs. Set in New York, it's the story of a group of talented people coming together to create a musical about Marilyn Monroe. Every week was more intrigue, more shocking behavior, and more amazing singing (my favorite part).
Katherine McPhee burned up the screen as newcomer Karen, a young hopeful from the mid-west dreaming of a shot to be on Broadway. Ivy, played by Megan Hilty, was her rival for the role and the hert of the musical's director, Derek Wills (Jack Davenport). And while the show isn't about fashion (exactly) the addition of Jennifer Hudson to the cast is definitely noteworthy since the Dreamgirls star has graced the cover of Vogue and is a dear friend of Andre Leon Talley.
The theme for the Entertainment Weekly set was Sophia Loren, so it's all streaming hair and sexy, langorous looks. Their shimmery (sparkly?) dresses prove that sequins are indeed demcratic and fit all skin tones. Designers included are Jenny Packham, Herve Leger, and Haute Hippie.
