Natara Holloway, Vice President of consumer products at NFL, said that they wanted to include everyone in on the football spirit. “There are some fashionistas who really like football. We want to be inclusive of all fans.”
The football helmets were given a couture touch. Designers such as Diane Von Furstenberg, Donna Karan, Cynthia Rowley, Rag & Bone, Marchesa and Alice + Olivia gave their designer touch. Some helps were given a metallic touch while other helmets were given the designer's signature look.
The NFL is auctioning off all of the designed helmets. All proceeds will go to the NFL Foundation. The starting bid for each helmet is $248.The auction ends Feb. 4 if you happen to be in the New York City area.
