Today, Wang is considered once of the most famous fashion designers in the world, but she also is a member of the U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Fame. She has made wedding gowns and fashions for many well-known people and celebrities, but she also has designed figure skating costumes for elite and Olympic ice skaters including 1994 Olympic figure skating silver medalist Nancy Kerrigan and 2010 Olympic figure skating champion Evan Lysacek.
When she retired from competitive figure skating, Vera Wang graduated from Sarah Lawrence college and entered the fashion industry.
