As we say au revoir to Paris Fashion Week, London Fashion Week and Milan Fashion Week--collectively known as Europe Fashion week-- we say hello to burgeoning trends and forging styles. The Fall 2013 runways in Europe were overloaded with style.
Many collections were electrified by preeminent trends that defined each city as the designers and their designs took to the catwalk. For London Fashion Week, the consensus was sophistication with a slight edge, classic silhouettes with raw-styled tapered luxurious fabrics were prevalent for the Mulberry, Tom Ford, Burberry Prorsum, Pringle of Scotland, and Erdem shows.
In Paris the consensus was Vintage decadence. Many of the collections on the Parisian runways featured Vintage inspired styles; Rochas, Balmain, Celine, Dries Van Notten and Balenciaga, elevated by decadent embroidery, embellishments and appliqués- Balmain, Lanvin, Sonia Rykiel, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Chloe.
In Milan the idea centered on excess glam. Over the top looks were embodied with extravagant cuts and colors as seen on Dolce & Gabbana, Versace, Roberto Cavalli, Emilio Pucci and Giorgio Armani.
As you could imagine it was virtually impossible (or so I thought) to narrow the list down to just fifteen. Somehow I managed to pull fifteen fascinating looks from the marvel that is Europe Fashion Week.
