Fashion Buzz: Top 10 looks from New York Fashion Week 2013 (Photos)

It is that time again, which for me has always been a sort of pet peeve of mine-- to divulge in things that are spoken for ahead of time. Case in point Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Fall 2013, we are now just gradually shedding our infatuation with the Fall/Winter 2012, and barely have our fashion GPS tracking Spring 2013. Resort 2013 is also staking its claim so where does that leave us room to be smitten over Fall 2013?

Well this is the world of fashion after all where trends are always predicted two to three seasons ahead of time and it is not unusual to see someone wearing something from next season this season, fashion is as forever evolving as a revolving door at a Barney’s Warehouse clearance sale.

With this perspective in mind the Fall 2013 runway shows that have just finished wrapping up in New York are what the critics would call “groundbreaking” and “visually appealing”. The looks chartered for the Fall were highlighted with the use of black and white and subtle drops of color-- color wasn’t a huge hit for most of the collections but monochrome was. Popular trends for the Fall 2013 runways included the dominating fur and leather followed by lace and velvet.

More than a handful of designers opted for classic looks with nominal choice of colors i.e. Calvin Klein, Altuzarra, Diesel Black Gold, Helmut Lang, Herve Leger, Donna Karan. Other designers decided to go completely left from their previous showing and rev it up a bit; Oscar de la Renta, Anna Sui , Marc Jacobs, Rodarte Jason Wu, Marchesa. What all of the Fall collections have in common, however, is that they brought their own interpretation and display of Fall style for the 2013 season, and with that here are 10 looks from NYFW 2013 that were interpreted well..
