Actress Farrah Fawcett, 62, died at 9:28 a.m. last Thursday at St. John’s Health Center in Santa Monica. Ryan O’Neil her longtime companion, and best friend Alana Stewart were at her side . She passed away after a valiant battle with cancer which she documented with friend Alana Stewart. Fawcett and partner O’Neal, 68, never married, but have a son Redmond together , age 24, who at this date remains jailed on drug-related cases. With a judges permission it is expected he will attend the funeral
O’ Neil :
“After a long and brave battle with cancer, our beloved Farrah has passed away,”
“Although this is an extremely difficult time for her family and friends, we take comfort in the beautiful times that we shared with Farrah over the years and the knowledge that her life brought joy to so many people around the world.”
Her funeral which is private, and by “invitation only” and closed to the media and will be held Tuesday June 30,2009 at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in downtown Los Angeles.

Fawcett best known for her famous top selling swimsuit poster, and her role on "Charlies Angels" was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2006. She documented her fight against the disease was made in the documentary “Farrah’s Story,” which was broadcast on NBC. which has announced it will air the documentary again this Friday night.
