Most fans of the hit MTV show already know that the network is considering a reboot of the show which lasted four seasons. The show abruptly ended after Amber Portwood was handed a five-year prison sentence. After serving less than two-years behind bars, Portwood was released and is hoping to encourage other young women who may find themselves in a similar situation that she was once found herself. Amber Portwood, Maci Bookout, and Catelynn Lowell have all reportedly agreed to appear in the new show as long as Farrah Abraham is not involved (only Portwood has spoken out about the rumor and said she has no issue working with Farrah again.)
The main reason that has been cited is the path that Farrah Abraham has taken since her “Teen Mom” days. Unlike Maci Bookout, Amber Portwood, and Catelynn Lowell (who have all taken to public speaking since the end of the show), Farrah has spread her wings in the adult entertainment industry. She has released an adult film as well as her own line of toys so it is understandable that the other three girls may be leery about being associated with her again.
However, Farrah Abraham refused to comment about the situation to the Huffington Post, but that isn’t the most surprising thing that she said. Farrah claims that out of the four original cast members, she would win a competition for “best mom.”
Farrah stated, “I think it would be awesome to have a “Teen Mom” show where we compete to see who is the best mom. I will say, I think at the end of the day I would be."
This is a pretty bold statement for Farrah Abraham to make. While Amber Portwood has been in trouble in the past, she has since turned her life around and is very involved in her daughter’s life. Not only that, but Maci Bookout has always been lauded as perhaps the best mom from “Teen Mom.” While Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra chose to place their daughter up for adoption, they are currently expecting a second child and there is no doubt they will be wonderful parents.
On the other hand, Farrah Abraham’s choices don’t necessarily make her a bad mother, but some question if she really would win “best mom” against Amber Portwood, Maci Bookout, and Catelynn Lowell.
