Having a picky eater is one of the things that many parents struggle with when their child is young and there are so many foods they haven't tried. On Jan. 22 Farrah Abraham shared a few tips with What to Expect on getting picky eaters to eat up their vegetables. The former "Teen Mom" reality star has since graduated from culinary school and has started her own line of Italian hot pepper sauce with her mother and grandma.
Farrah says that blending veggies and mixing them up in a fruit dip and allowing your child to dip berries and other favorite fruits in it. If your child is a meatball lover, Farrah suggests rolling up veggies in your meat. Using a veggie sauce such as spaghetti sauce is also helpful when your kids are small enough to not recognize that their favorite meal has a veggie in it.
For many parents, picky eating is more than just a problem. Especially if their child has special dietary needs or texture issues. Sometimes a food therapist needs to be enlisted where they will help your child explore food in a healthy manner. Also, immature chewing skills can be the culprit of picky eating. If you suspect that your child is chomping rather than a rotating chew as they should be doing, have their jaw and teeth checked out by a dentist.
