On today’s fun episode of “Farmhouse Rules,” Nancy Fuller, the born and raised farm girl from Upstate New York is serving up and eating delicious food. Her recipes are called rules, and these rules have been handed down for generations. Nancy has been a chef and caterer for over twenty-five years and as a mother of six and grandmother of thirteen, she is still madly in love with her city boy hubby, David.
In this episode titled, “Drive-In Date Night,” Nancy and David are attending a Drive-In movie theater, probably one of the last of these wonderful attractions from yesteryear. The recipes from this show are here, as she makes All-American Cheeseburgers with Special Sauce, Roasted Onion Dip, Beer-Battered Curly Fries and to wash it all down, Cola Milk Shakes.
While Nancy’s onions were in the oven in preparations for the onion dip, she had time to run over to Farmer Fred’s Hill-Over Healthy & Fresh LLC, to get the fresh milk and ice cream for the shakes. When Nancy saw Farmer Fred and his wife, she was greeted warmly by both of them. She got to taste a sample of both the vanilla and chocolate ice cream and a quart of the freshest milk, sold only in glass bottles.
Once the onion dip was made, she put it in the refrigerator until it was ready. Nancy got out her curly fries maker to cut the potatoes. She heated oil to the proper temperature, using a thermometer, and warned everyone watching to never leave that pot. She then made the batter for them and had fun turning the handle on the curly fries maker. Once battered, she put them in the oil and fried them to perfection and dipped one in the onion dip for testing purposes only.
For the burgers, she buttered the skillet and toasted the buns. They had an awesome meal together before the drive-in date. Nancy then made the milk shakes for David’s surprise. When they arrived at the Amenia Theater, it must have been classic car night, as there were loads of old cars and even the Batmobile on this episode of “Farmhouse Rules.”
