Downtown Lancaster which is known as the Blvd., has an all year round Famer’s Market. Fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts, candies, cookies and various dips can be purchased and enjoyed every Thursday. Besides edible delights, arts and crafts, soaps that are handmade, along with a variety of vendors are on site as well. Please, make it a point to come out, but dress warm and enjoy a winter weather stroll to good music, purchase vegetables, enjoy samples of tasty treats or maybe plan on buying in the near future. Farmer’s Market is located in the heart of downtown Lancaster, which runs right along Lancaster Boulevard between Fig Avenue and Date Avenue. The winter (November to March) time of operations are from 2-7 p.m. and spring, summer, and fall times are from 3-8 p.m. Public parking is available at Lancaster City Hall (44933 Fern Avenue), Lancaster Regional Library (601 West Lancaster Boulevard), Western Hotel Museum (557 West Lancaster Boulevard) and various residential neighborhoods within the area, which are between Sierra Boulevard and 10th Street West along Lancaster Boulevard.
For moms who are at home tending to the necessary tasks of the day, here is an opportunity for them. If possible, better yet make it a reality to have a recess from the mundane duties that occupy the day and come out to Famer’s Market. Whether they traverse the Blvd. alone, plan a date with their husbands, bring the children and make it a family affair or meet other moms for the afternoon; the choice is theirs. Famer’s Market is all year round, so they could choose what season is best for them if winter is extremely cold, spring is slowly but surely approaching. In the end moms will be glad they did.
