Fargo Moorhead Visitors and Convention Bureau held their annual meeting Tuesday with the keynote speaker discussing the woodchipper from the movie Fargo as a an attraction that can draw visitors to the area. Bill Geist of Zeitgeist Consulting in Madison discussed the advantages of a quirky attraction that can lead visitors to areas and drive them to set up residence or businesses in the area.
The FM CVB also honored several individuals for their lifetime contribution to the travel industry in the region.
Among those individuals were Margie Bailley formerly of the Fargo Theatre, Byron Dorgan former congressman and leader in air legislation, and Bucky Maughan a former NDSU wrestling coach who worked in bringing and keeping USA wrestling tournaments in the Fargo Moorhead area.
Several others were honored in their efforts to promote area tourism.
