Lorne Malvo is alive and well and picking up awards. Well at least his alter ego Billy Bob Thornton is taking home prizes. The FX cable network led the way at the June 19 2014 Critics’ Choice Awards with “Fargo” being the big winner. The brilliantly scripted mini-series finished its season finale on Tuesday and was rewarded with three trophies for its efforts. Billy Bob Thornton (Lorne Malvo) beat out his co-star Martin Freeman (Lester Nygaard) for the Best Actor in a Movie or Mini-Series win. Both men showed insane talent playing their roles but alas only one criminal creature won. Newcomer Allison Tolman (Deputy Molly Solverson) also won for Best Supporting Actress in a Movie or Mini-Series and “Fargo” won for Best Mini-Series. Actress Allison Janney was another two-time nominee and winner.

It is not clear yet whether the limited run mini-series will return for a full season 2 especially with FX’s “Justified” leaving a blank space once their finale season begins and ends next year. And speaking of “Justified,” Walton Goggins (Boyd Crowder) received double nominations, one for Best Actor in a drama series for his role playing Boyd Crowder in “Justified” and for Best Guest Performer in a drama series “Sons of Anarchy.”
