Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE) in hosting its 7th Annual Chicago Gala Saturday, November 1 in Chicago. Scott Mandell, founder and CEO of Enjoy Life Foods, is being honored at this event that features an evening of entertainment as the food allergy community comes together to help fund critical research.
I continue to be a fan of Enjoy Life Foods' gluten-free products that are free of eight of the most common allergens: wheat/gluten, dairy, peanuts, tree nuts, egg, soy, fish, or shellfish. All of their products are made in a dedicated nut and certified gluten-free facility. Their products are also made without casein, sesame, and sulfites. Their chocolate bars and chocolate chips continue to be my favorite products because they taste fabulous and they are great to use when baking.
FARE works on behalf of the 15 million Americans with food allergies, including all those at risk for life-threatening anaphylaxis. This potentially deadly disease affects 1 in every 13 children in the U.S., or roughly two in every classroom. FARE’s mission is to find a cure for food allergies, and to keep individuals safe and included. They accomplish their goals by investing in world-class research that advances treatment and understanding of the disease, providing evidence-based education and resources, undertaking advocacy at all levels of government, and increasing awareness of food allergy as a serious public health issue.
