Several potential high-profile video games may be revealed at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo. According to a report from Gear Nuke on April 20, the E3 2014 should focus on sequels to popular franchises such as “Far Cry,” “Mass Effect” and “Resident Evil.” The gaming convention is scheduled to take place in less than two months in Los Angeles starting on June 10.
One of the biggest rumors that have been making the rounds is “Resident Evil 7.” A Japanese newspaper stated that Capcom would be announcing the sequel, which could end up being a timed exclusive release for the Xbox One, at E3 2014. The previous installment of the series, “Resident Evil 6,” received mixed reviews from both critics and the gaming community when it was released in 2012. You can find a screen of the sixth main entry from the official Facebook page of the “Resident Evil” series with the photo located to the top of this article.
The other high-profile video games that may be showcased at E3 2014 are the tentatively-titled “Far Cry 4” and “Mass Effect 4.” The latest installment of the “Far Cry” series is rumored to be set in the Himalayas with the new ability to ride elephants. Not many details have been leaked in regards to “Mass Effect 4,” however. Bioware did confirm some general information such as support for the Frostbite 3 graphics engine. The story will also no longer put Commander Shepard in the spotlight.
Gear Nuke also provided a list of games that should be getting more information at E3 2014. Fans of “Aliens: Isolation,” “Assassin’s Creed Unity,” “Batman Arkham Knight,” “Driveclub,” “Halo 5” and “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” will most likely learn more about the software products during the event. They may also see some updates of the next installments for the “Gears of War” and “Hitman” franchises.
