‘Far Cry 4’ cited in the LinkedIn profile of an Ubisoft Shanghai employee

While Ubisoft has not officially announced that they are working on a new installment to the Far Cry series, it would be a surprise for the developer to not revisit the franchise after the success of Far Cry 3. However, evidence has leaked in the past which pointed at the fact that Far Cry 4is indeed already in development. According to a report by Joystiq on Jan 27, another hint that the game is in the works has now been spotted after Ubisoft Shanghai Studio Design Manager Xavier Plagnal was discovered to have a listing for “Content Director on the next Far Cry” on his LinkedIn profile.

Despite the fact that existence of another Far Cry game has yet to be announced, the fact that an Ubisoft developer has claimed to have worked on the next installment does strongly hint that Far Cry 4 is currently in the works.

Even knowing that the game might possibly be in the works doesn’t reveal any other details about the next Far Cry title. More information regarding the game will simply have to wait until Ubisoft decides to make some form of official announcement.
