'Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon' may be continuation game for 'Far Cry 3'

One of the best games, if not the best game, of 2012 was Ubisoft's "Far Cry 3". The game put players into a very big open world setting, tasked then to upgrade their skills and save their friends, along with doing a host of missions like hunting animals and finding treasure.

Lead writer of the game, Jeffrey Yohalem, told Joystiq a while back that the follow up for "Far Cry 3" wouldn't take years to come out. He wanted fans to be confident that the next game wouldn't be like the time between "Far Cry 2" and "Far Cry 3".

"Yes, I'm working on something now that will be surprising, I think, when it's announced. But it definitely is a 'strike while the iron's hot' thing, and we'll see," said Yohalem. The question now is, what exactly would the follow up be? Could it be "Far Cry 4" or some DLC?

Turns out, it's not going to be either. A classification rating for an Xbox Live Arcade game called "Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon" was spotted by @lifelower. Not only was a rating spotted for the game, but the term "first-person shooter" was used to describe the game.

There's no word on price or release date for the game, but since it's ready to be rated, it's fair to assume the game is not too far off from coming out.

A follow up game via Xbox Live Arcade? That's not too bad of a follow up. Ubisoft would be wise to follow up on the game right now, considering "Far Cry 3" shipped 4.5 million copies and appeared on everyone's top ten game of the year list for 2012.

"Far Cry 3" will hold you over until "Blood Dragon" releases, so pick up a copy on the Xbox 360 or PS3 while you wait.
