'LARPer Christmas' refers to the day after Halloween. This day is known as LARPer Christmas because many Halloween stores are trying to unload their inventory, resulting in a cost reduction.
During this time, LARPers and other theatrical types find some of the best deals available on costumes, masks, supplies and also behind the scenes equipment like lights and fog machines.
As with other big sale holidays (like Black Friday), it's definitely possible for deal-seekers to trample or be trampled when the stores open.
During LARPer Christmas season 2009, Seventh Kingdom IGE Environmental Director/Propmaster Matt Wagner reported getting into an altercation with another customer at a popular Halloween store over some tech equipment. Wagner described the other customer as "pretty serious" about grabbing up all of the items.
Tips: During LARPer Christmas and Black Friday, remember to stay safe. Don't trample others--even if the deal is amazing--and do your best to avoid being trampled. Enter the store with a plan! Consider utilizing a rogue spec to sneak around the other customers; just remember to pay once you've found your item!
