Week four of the fantasy football season starts the bye weeks, with the Carolina Panthers and Green Bay Packers off. That elimiated Steve Smith and Jordy Lelson at wide reciever, and ESPN reported on Sept. 24 the Detroit Lions also lost Nate Burleson for the year with a broken arm
Here is the fantasy football rankings for wide receivers in week four of the NFL season.
1. Calvin Johnson
Much like Peyton Manning, unless he is hurt Calvin Johnson will always rank first on these lists. Last week, he caught his 500th career pass, had his 34th 100-yard receiving game, and nabbed the go-ahead touchdown for the win. This week, he gets Chicago.
2. Dez Bryant
Dez Bryant is becoming one of the most reliable wide receivers in fantasy football. After a disappointing first game, he has touchdowns in back to back games. Against a weak San Diego Chargers defense, Bryant should run wild this week.
3. Brandon Marshall
If the Chicago Bears want to beat the Detroit Lions this week, they will have to match them in points and it will be Brandon Marshall against Calvin Johnson in this game. Marshall didn't break 100 yards or score a touchdown last week, but he did both in each of the first two games of 2013. Expect him to be back to form this week.
4. Julio Jones
Julio Jones is a playmaker, and as long as Roddy White is injured, he will be the main weapon on offense for the Atlanta Falcons. He is tied with DeSean Jackson as the best fantasy football receiver this season, and while he has a tough matchup with the Patriots this week, he should still get enough touches to remain valuable.
5. Demaryius Thomas
As long as Peyton Manning is throwing the ball as well as he is, all his receivers will benefit, and none more so than his playmaker Demaryius Thomas. In three games, he has 20 receptions for 307 yards and two touchdowns and will run wild against the Eagles this week.
6. A.J. Green
7. Wes Welker
8. Pierre Garcon
9. DeSean Jackson
10. Antonio Brown
11. Victor Cruz
12. Reggie Wayne
