Week four of the fantasy football season starts the bye weeks, with the Carolina Panthers and Green Bay Packers off. Luckily for most fantasy football owners, neither team is stacked at running back, and ESPN reported on Sept. 24 the Pittsburgh Steelers might be welcoming back Le'Veon Bell this week as well.
Here is the fantasy football rankings for running backs in week four of the NFL season.
1. Jamaal Charles
For the first time this season, Adrian Peterson is not ranked first on the list. The New York Giants have one of the worst defenses in the NFL and Jamaal Charles gets his chance to run all over them in week four. This might be Charles' best game of the season.
2. Adrian Peterson
The Pittsburgh Steelers offense is not doing anything recently when it comes to putting points on the board. That means the Minnesota Vikings can just be content to run the ball, and Adrian Peterson is looking for his second 100-yard game of the season. He gets his fullback back in the lineup this week, and that could mean good things for his fantasy football owners.
3. LeSean McCoy
It seems like McCoy has a second lease on life in Chip Kelly's new high octane offense. He has 395 rushing yards and 119 receiving yards through three games and should continue to play hard against Denver and the Eagles do anything they can to keep Peyton Manning off the field.
4. Alfred Morris
This might be the highest you will see Morris ranked, but he gets the privilege of playing the Oakland Raiders this week. Morris has either run for 100 yards or scored a touchdown in all three games this season and might do both in week four.
5. Matt Forte
Forte gets a weak Detroit Lions defense in week four and will try to improve on his already decent 225 rushing and 138 receiving yards on the season. Last time he played Detroit, he had 103 yards and a touchdown.
6. Doug Martin
7. Darren McFadden
8. Marshawn Lynch
9. Trent Richardson
10. DeMarco Murray
11. Frank Gore
12. Chris Johnson
