Give Ryan Fowler of Fox Sports credit for declaring in late August that Cleveland tight end Jordan Cameron would be a breakout fantasy football payer in the AFC North.
Cameron is No. 2 (behind the Saints' Jimmy Graham) among fantasy tight ends with 30 catches, 360 yards receiving, five touchdowns and a total of 79 fantasy points. Only quarterback Aaron Rodgers with 88 has more fantasy points on my 2013 roster.
The emergence of Cameron should not come as a surprise. The Browns new offensive coordinator, Norv Turner, has been able to take players with basketball backgrounds and turn them into solid NFL tight ends. The Chargers' Antonio Gates comes to mind. If for some bizarre reason, Cleveland tight end Jordan Cameron is a free agent in your fantasy football league, you should add him to your team as soon as possible.
And if you are looking for a player to cut or send to the bench, you should consider Buffalo running back C.J. Spiller who has been far less productive than expected in the first four games of the season. He is No. 33 among running backs in fantasy football, which puts him just ahead of Da'Rel Scott of the New York Giants and the Browns' Chris Ogbonnaya.
Bills fans should take heart that E.J. Manuel is doing all right at quarterback. He is currently ranked between Seattle's Russell Wilson and the 49ers' Colin Kaepernick in fantasy football.
The Buffalo defense has played well enough in the 1st quarter of the season to be someone's starting defense when their No. 1 defense has a "bye" week.
