Quarterback Peyton Manning should be the leading fantasy football scorer in tonight's NFL season opener between the NFL Champion Baltimore Ravens and Denver Broncos.
Here are four reasons to expect Manning to excel against the Ravens: (1) Denver's team management has surrounded Manning with a better supporting cast; (2) the Broncos quarterback knows how to manage an offense; (3) the Ravens may be the champions, but their team has lost a number of players that shined during the 2012 season., and (4) it is the home opener and Denver fans love their team and hate their opponents.
As much as it makes sense to start Manning as your fantasy football quarterback, there are also compelling reasons NOT to start Baltimore quarterback Joe Flacco. Though the Ravens offense did experience some turnover (most notable loss being wide receiver Anquan Boldin), the defense has been thorughly revamped. And if the ball-control Baltimore offense cannot get on the field, Flacco and company are going to have a long night in Mile High Stadium.
Other players you should start tonight include running backs Ray Rice of Baltimore and Montee Ball of Denver; wide receivers Demaryius Thomas & Wes Welker of Denver and Torrey Smith of Baltimore; kickers Matt Prater of Denver and Justin Tucker of Baltimore, and Denver's defense and special teams
Don't start a tight end from either team or Baltimore's defense & special teams.
