It’s always an exciting time when something new opens at Disneyland. It doesn’t come around very often and this new addition is sure to excite the fairytale in all of us.
It’s the Fantasy Faire and it opens today (March 12, 2013). It’s an extension of Fantasyland, located just to the West of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle (between the castle and Frontierland). It allows guests to meet the most famous Disney princesses as well as see some of them in a live theatre performance.
The area features the Royal Hall where guests can meet some of the famous Disney Princesses. There is also the Royal Theatre where two comedic hosts join a Disney Princess to re-enact a short version of her story. The two featured tales as of now are Tangled and Beauty and the Beast.
I had the pleasure of seeing the Beauty of the Beast and the performance was quite entertaining. Just in front of the stage is a carpeted area where the kids can get a up close and personal experience while the audience sits on benches surrounding it inside the tent.
The two hosts, Smythe and Jomes are joined on stage by Belle to tell the tale with other characters from the classic film with fun twists that keep everyone full of joy and mirth.
Rounding out the new area is the Fairy Tale Treasures costume shop and Maurice’s Treats.
It’s an experience that will have you shouting “Hip, hip! Huzzah!”
