In what looks to be a cross between Inception and the romantic drama Upside Down comes the visually stunning french film Mood Indigo. Drafthouse has acquired the rights to distribute the film statewide and should hit theaters in 2014. The trailer looks amazing and should show at a majority of the Drafthouse theaters in the US. Mood Indigo is directed by Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) and stars Audrey Tautou(Amelie) and Romain Duris. Amelie is an iconic film so I’m sure many will want to see Tautou performance.
Mood Indigo is a love story set in a charmingly surreal Paris about two newlyweds, Chloe (Audrey Tautou, Amélie, Coco Before Chanel) and Colin (Romain Duris, The Beat My Heart Skipped), whose whirlwind courtship is tested when an unusual illness plagues Chloe; a flower begins to grow in her lungs.
No this is not a horror but I think many will enjoy the effects and surrealism shown in the trailer. Mood Indigo looks great and after the response from Fantastic Fest American critics are giving the film high praise.
