Fantastic Fest posted their short film lineup on September 3, 2014. And judging from the titles, it looks like a perfect pairing to their recently announced second wave of feature film programming.

The official press release notes that: "Author, film producer, and original Alamo Drafthouse film programmer Kier-la Janisse has curated a massively compelling, distressing, amusing and entertaining selection of short films from around the universe. You’ll thrill, laugh, gasp, cry, and probably vomit."

The short films are comprised of both foreign and U.S. entries. Titles of note that should appeal to horror fans includes 'Solitudo', about a nun terrorized by a supernatural force, 'Crazy for You' about a serial killer romance, and revenge fantasy Death Sentence (Peine De Mort). 'Goat Witch', judging from the publicity still (used in this article), looks like a particularly ominous occult tale.

The shorts portion of the festival is officially sponsored by Fangoria horror magazine. Their official website stated: "Paired with features, or unspooling in programs, theses bursts of creative energy often introduce international filmmakers worth celebrating, whose strange ideas are worth discussing. Sad then, the short film conversation can often remain at festivals or in industry circles. In hoping to change that, even a bit, Fangoria is quite proud to be the official sponsor of the Fantastic Fest 2014 Shorts Programs."

The Alamo Drafthouse-hosted film festival, will celebrate its tenth anniversary this year at their newly renovated South Lamar location, and runs from September 18-25th. You can keep track of all things Fantastic Fest on their official website.
