Fantasia Barrino, winner of 'American Idol' season 3, gave birth to her first son on Tuesday in North Carolina.
Dallas Xavier Barrino was born on Dec. 13, quite a bit ahead of his anticipated December 29 due date, at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina. The baby weighed 7 lbs., 9 oz. and was 21 inches long.
RadarOnline.com was the first organization to report that Fantasia had checked into the hospital.
Dallas' dad is believed to be Fantasia's boyfriend, Antwaun Cook. Cook is still married to his estranged wife, Paula. Unnamed sources claim Cook was at the hospital with Fantasia, 27. In 2010, Fantasia starred in her own reality show "Fantasia For Real", and episode 7 detailed the singer's suicide attempt - said to have been triggered by the media attention her relationship with Cook garnered.
Happier times were ahead for Fantasia, who picked up a Grammy® and an NAACP award in 2011.
Dallas is Fantasia's second child. The 'American Idol' star has a 10-year-old daughter, Zion, from a previous relationship.
