Fantasia Finds A New Freedom

Fantasia is back, and this time she's for real.

The American Idol season 3 winner is set to drop her fourth studio album "Side Effects of You" in March 2013 after a two-year musical hiatus. The album's kick-off single "Lose To Win," which samples The Commodores 1985 single "Night Shift," is a testimony to those who feel they have hit rock bottom, a place Fantasia says she has been before. The Grammy Award-winning singer stated in a recent interview with V101.9, Charlotte's old-school R&B station that the song is not just about failed relationships, but about "losing anything from a family member, a job, a home...I had to lose a lot of things to in order to win the things that were supposed to be in my life," she stated.

Fantasia also reflects on finally being happy and accepting herself as she is, giving no apologies. "I finally got to a point in my life...where I don't care about pleasing folks...as long as I wake up in the morning and I know that I'm happy with who Fantasia is, I'm going to continue to share my life," she added. Although Fantasia is considered an R&B artist, she is ready to unleash a new sound with this latest release, which she has dubbed Rock-Soul, a fusion of the classic rhythm and blues genre with influences of rock and roll.

"Lose To Win" is available for download on iTunes.com and Amazon.com.
