R&B singer and former “America Idol” winner Fantasia Barrino is holding her head up high after a breakup from the father of her baby, Antwaun Cook. According to BET on Jan. 3, the singer has denied rumors that suicidal thoughts resulted from the breakup.

Fantasia’s strength in her personal life has made her a woman who is to be admired. It is a strength so often translated into her music. That’s why Fantasia found the rumors to be unheard of as she responded to them via Instagram:

“LOl!!! Who keeps this stuff Going?? Lord lord lord. It’s almost been a Year and this is still going on? Lol!! He and I are not together. I’m not going anywhere so stop trying to make me dead.”

Fantasia definitely experienced some heartbreak after the breakup. She is human after all, but it didn’t send her into a dark depression. If anything, the breakup made her a stronger woman. She concluded by saying “I’m just getting started”. And in many ways she is. Fantasia continues to make music and she is also still making inspirations in both film and stage projects.

Despite the breakup and a foreclosure on her Georgia mansion, Fantasia continues to influence the same spirit that made her an “American Idol” winner. Her New Year’s resolution was to “stay healthy and fit” which also included her mental health.
