Fans send best wishes to OFF!'s Keith Morris; diabetic-induced coma cancels tour

On Friday, punk band OFF! issued a statement on its Twitter account informing fans, “Sadly, we have to cancel our west coast tour due to illness. Refunds are available at point of purchase. Thank you for your understanding.”

The situation was a serious one for vocalist Keith Morris, former lead singer of Black Flag and the Circle Jerks.

Morris revealed to Rolling Stone Magazine a health scare he had when returning from a gig at the Big Day Out Festival in Australia last week.

“I'm in kind of a weird scenario right now, because I got back last Tuesday and I'm a diabetic and I failed to eat lunch.

"Came back, hung out with my girlfriend, and the whole idea was that we were going to do what grown-ups do – go take a nap and go get something to eat.

“It should have been reversed – I should have eaten first. So we did what we did, and I passed out. As I passed out, I actually blacked out and went into a diabetic-induced coma. So I'm kind of like the T-shirt that's been sitting in the dryer for three days.”

Fans have rushed to the OFF! and Black Flag Facebook pages sending Keith best wishes and a quick recovery.

Morris will reunite with former Black Flag members Chuck Dukowski, Bill Stevenson and Dez Cadena along with guitarist Stephen Egerton (The Descendents, All) performing the music of Black Flag under the name FLAG with European dates to begin in April followed by the all-star Punk Rock Bowling and Music Festival in Las Vegas May 27.
