Last week Christopher Nolan finally revealed that the upcoming third installment of his Batman trilogy will be called "The Dark Knight Rises". Here are some examples of how fans across the internet are reacting.
"It's no big deal, but I'm hoping this is just a working title, if only because the whole Rise thing has done to death in recent years. RISE OF THE SILVER SURFER. RISE OF THE LYCANS RISE OF THE FALLEN. And probably a few more I'm forgetting! "
" It should really be Dark Knight Returns as a wink and a nod to the comics. But whatever. Rises works, I guess."
"Don't care much for the title myself but i'm not going to see the movie for the title i'm going for the story so who cares what it's called. "
" The title really doesn't have a good ring to it, but oh well. "
"Its an ok title. Feels like an odd one to use for the last film of Nolan's run. Feels like the sort of title you use for the first."
"Decent but not great title. Still, what matters is the quality of the movie itself."
"I think The Dark Knight Rises works better for a porn parody of Batman, but overall it's bad imo. I hope nobody got paid for suggesting this title."
"It doesn't have a ring to it, but I think it's clever that they get to use TDKR as initials without using Returns."

"Honestly, I'm not sure how I feel about the title. Maybe it's just me but it reminds me of Dead Rising from Land of the Dead."
"I speak for everyone when I say Hate it"
"At least it's not Dark Knight 2 The Streets of Gotham"
"I wouldnt consider batman begins the greatest title in the world and I remember people bashing that. Its a title, and IMO its a lot better then shadow of the bat and 90% of the other stuff people came up with."
"You Bat-fans kill me...When the title "Batman Begins" was announced- everyone thought the world was ending... similar to this announcement and yet now BB is said without the slightest hesitation, just as this movie title will be mentioned without reserve in time. Guess what folks - The title is named, get used to it, get over it, move on and lets start talking about what it means."
Reactions across fandom appear to be mixed. What are your thoughts on the new title?
