The UK Daily Mail reported on Oct. 25 that the high school students who were photographed by Ringo Starr in 1964 and first seen in the ebook version of his Genesis Publications' book “Photograph,” have been located after a worldwide search, but the story gets even more interesting. They say they were suspended after the outing that resulted in the photo for cutting class.
“The principal certainly suspended me for three days as soon as we got back to school,” Bob Toth,66, who was in the passenger seat, told the paper. And, he said, 'The story didn’t even make it into the yearbook because he didn’t want to look like he was encouraging kids to cut school.’”
Toth also said he never knew the photograph existed. “It’s kind of nice to have something legitimize the story we’ve all told on and off over the years.”
It's something that Toth says the principal, who he met up with again recently, now regrets. ‘He said to me, 'You know, in retrospect what you did that day was a very good idea.'”
As of now, a meeting with Ringo isn't planned, reports North Jersey.com.
