As Gleeks prepare to remember not only one of their favorite characters, but also honor one of their favorite actors, they are finding that they have mixed emotions about the upcoming episode of “Glee”. “The Quarterback” will air on October 10, 2013. In the episode, Finn Hudson, the handsome football quarterback will pass away. Cory Monteith portrayed Hudson on the popular show, and was found dead on July 13, 2013 due to mixed drug toxicity, involving intravenous heroin use combined with the ingestion of alcohol. Fans of the actor and the show were inconsolable at the loss of such an amazing and young talent.
While fans are upset at the loss of Monteith, watching Lea Michele’s reaction is even more difficult. Michele not only plays Hudson’s on screen love Rachael Berry, she was also engaged to Monteith. During their public appearances they appeared hopelessly in love and their relationship was a focus of Gleeks across the globe. After Monteith’s passing, Michele remained low key until her first appearance at the “Teen Choice Awards”. She was in attendance to accept the Teen Choice TV Actress Comedy Award and was brought to tears when she thanked fans for their support. The thought of her having to go through the entire loss again on screen as Rachael is almost too much for some fans to bear.
