Demi Lovato, 20, has been open with the public about many things in her life, including being bipolar and her recovery from several addictions, but for now she's keeping quiet about recent rumors about her love life.
According to an Us Weekly report that was published on Feb. 20, 2013, Lovato and actor Wilmer Valderrama were seen having a romantic dinner together on Valentine's Day (Feb. 14, 2013) at Takami Sushi & Robata Restaurant in Los Angeles. Meanwhile, Lovato hung out with One Direction's Niall Horan (who is 19) at Sony Music's Brit Awards after-party at the Arts Club in London on Feb. 20, 2013. Ryan Seacrest said on his radio show that Lovato and Horan were seen holding hands at the party.
Lovato's fans (who are nicknamed Lovatics) have had mixed reactions on the Internet: Some fans are happy that she's happy with Valderrama, other fans want her to be with Horan, while other fans think she that she is better off with neither guy.
An eyewitness told Us Weekly about Lovato and Valderrama's Valentine's Day dinner: "They ordered almost everything on the menu, but they didn't touch it for at least an hour. They stared into each other's eyes the whole time."
During their Valentine's Day dinner, the couple had a "really intense conversation" and engaged in plenty of "cuddling." A source also told Us Weekly that Lovato and Valderrama were also seen "making out" earlier that day at the Topshop Topman grand opening at The Grove shopping center in Los Angeles.
On Feb. 13, 2013, Lovato and Valderrama were seen also hanging out together at the Topshop Topman party at Cecconi's restaurant in West Hollywood, Calif.
As previously reported, "Extra" interviewed Lovato that week, and she avoided answering questions about her love life. When asked if she had any Valentine's Day plans, she shrugged and said while smiling, "I don't know." And when Lovato was asked if she has a special man in her life, she changed the subject.
Lovato became a judge on "The X Factor" U.S. in May 2012. It has not been announced if she will continue to be a judge on the show in 2013. Lovato told "Extra" that she would say yes if she is asked to return to "The X Factor." So far, Simon Cowell is the only judge who is confirmed for the show in 2013. The replacements for Britney Spears and L.A. Reid have not been announced yet.
Lovato and Valderrama have had an on-again/off-again relationship since 2010. She briefly dated Joe Jonas of the Jonas Brothers in 2010.
Valderrama has dated several Hollywood starlets (most of whom are at least 10 years younger than he is), including Lindsay Lohan, Mandy Moore, Ashlee Simpson and Minka Kelly. In 2006, he famously went on Howard Stern's radio show and give a tell-all interview about his sexual encounters with some of these starlets.
Lovato and Horan have publicly admitted that they have crushes on each other, but they have said in several interviews that they are "just friends."
Horan has not had a serious girlfriend since One Direction found fame as a contestant act on "The X Factor" U.K. in 2010. He has been romantically linked to University of Birmingham drama student Amy Green, 20, but they have not publicly commented on what kind of relationship they have. British tabloids have recently reported that Horan broke up with Green because of his busy work schedule, but Green posted a message on Twitter that seemed to deny the tabloid reports. Green tweeted: “Laughing at what people will say to make an article #hysterical #getyourfactsright. Where do some people get their facts from?!! .. very funny."
