"The Voice" is silent.

Beverly Hills Police officials confirm that 48-year-old pop music superstar Whitney Houston died Saturday afternoon, leaving a legion of friends and fans to mourn her loss.

Officials say investigators in Los Angeles County are gathering information about her cause of death. Meanwhile condolences are flooding the Internet for the woman affectionately known as “The Voice”. Here are a few public sentiments from around the web:
