It's not every day a fan saves a baby at a baseball game, but that's just what went down during a Chicago White Sox and Cleveland Indians game on Monday. MLB shared the video of how quick thinking by Eileen Depesa made a big difference for one young child.
MLB shared the video showing Tyler Flowers' bat go flying. It bounced off the White Sox dugout and was headed right toward a young fan in the stands. Before one could even blink an eye, one fan saved the baby as she grabbed the flying bat.
Depesa got a hearty round of applause from the crowd, and of course the video has now gone viral. She told Cut4 that while she got to keep the bat and Flowers signed it, what she was thinking about was that little one behind her. Viewers of the video can't help but notice that the guy right next to Eileen ducked and cringed, but Depesa didn't hesitate for a moment.
The move showing the fan saving the baby was an all-around winning moment, at least for White Sox fans like Depesa. Way to go on the quick grab Eileen!
