The Family Tools: Leah Remini gets new sitcom on ABC

Gen X actress Leah Remini announced on Twitter last week that the pilot she filmed has been picked up by ABC. That's great news for Remini and her loyal fans who have been waiting impatiently to see Remini back on TV after her stint on “The Talk” ended abruptly.

The former “King of Queens” actress posted this message on Twitter on May 11, “Good news! The pilot I shot for ABC "Family Tools", formerly Red Van Man, formerly White Van Man has been picked up for Fall! Yayyyyy.” She filmed the pilot in March with co-stars J.K. Simmons and Kyle Bornheime.

Remini's “King of Queens” co-star Kevin James once said this about her, “She has the mouth of a construction worker with the body of a model.” Leah Remini is much more than that though, she has a quick wit and great comedic timing. She also now has a network behind her that believes in her talent.

Leah's fans are thrilled that the funny lady will be back on TV. Annette Hynson of Philadelphia said, “I love Leah. I can't wait to see her new show.” Marilyn Sharp of Texas was excited to hear that Leah Remini would be back on TV, “I loved her on 'King of Queens' and I stopped watching 'The Talk' when they let her go. She is so funny and I can't wait to see her on a sitcom again!” Jennifer Crowell Kyles of North Carolina added, “I've been a fan of Leah's for many, many years. I was, of course, a devoted fan of her in 'King of Queens', but I've enjoyed all of her work since then too. She was hilarious in Fat Actress and I thought she was the shining star of 'The Talk'. After she left 'The Talk' I found I just couldn't get interested in it anymore. I'm really excited about seeing her in 'The Family Tools'.”
