The Hunter family received a letter postmarked in Boston, and signed by "your neighbors." In the letter, their outdoor holiday decorations were called, “cheap, tacky and kitschy.” Whoever it was writing the letter told the family to take their decorations indoors.
Kristin Hunter told news sources her family has been decorating their home for Christmas for the past 37 years, and she does not intend for the letter to ruin the Christmas season for her family.
Friends and neighbors gathered at the Hunter's home on Saturday night to sing Christmas carols as a way of showing their support.
Homeowners in other parts of the country have received letters asking that holiday lighting and decorations be removed, much to the chagrin of the families. So, while this latest "Bah Humbug" letter is to be expected in this day and age, it still gets people's dander up.
