‘Family Ties’ Justine Bateman goes to college at 47

You’re never too old to reach for higher education and “Family Ties” star Justine Bateman is proving it can be done. At forty-seven years of age, Bateman is out to prove that she’s ready for the college experience. The former “Family Ties” star has documented her experience on her Tumblr, called College Life, where she shares her experiences as a freshman at UCLA.

While the blog has been around for months now, the media are just getting wind of it. E! Online posted on May 30 that “education can sometimes take a back seat when growing up under the spotlight in Hollywood.”

Justine is not alone in her endeavor. “Ugly Betty” star America Ferrera has just graduated with her bachelors degree in international relations from the University of Southern California. . It took the actress ten years because she took time off to work on “Ugly Betty.”

Bateman shares stories on her blog about college life that anyone any age can relate to.

"Remind me to tell you about this sour girl I had to interact with in the discussion class of one of my classes the other day. F--king priceless. I have to wait until the quarter's over, though. Because class," she wrote.
