Fox News reports a lawsuit against an adult entertainment company after a customer died of taking a sex enhancement pill called Stiff Nights. The mother of David McElwee’s minor children filed the lawsuit in August. Enlightened Reading Inc., the parent company of Erotic City has denied any wrongdoing.
In September 2012, David McElwee bought a sexual enhancer called Stiff Nights from a Kansas City adult bookstore. Not long after using the product, McElwee died of cardiac arrest. The suit claims the product increased McElwee’s blood pressure and caused a heart attack.
Johnson County EMS medical director Doctor Ryan Jacobsen said a doctor should have prescribed the product.
The pills’ manufacturers had issued a voluntary recall after learning the product contained sulfoaildenafil, a substance used in Viagra. KCTV Channel 5 tried to talk to attorneys representing McElwee’s family and Erotic City about the story. Neither would comment. Trial information is pending.
