Family skating open at Patriot Place

If your family has trouble agreeing on one thing to do, Patriot Place in Foxboro has now added ice skating to its list of shopping, dining, and movie-going experiences.

Winter Skate at Patriot Place is offering daily skating to the public on a 60 x 140 ft. outdoor rink located in front of the North Retail Center. Admission is $6 for adults and $4 for children age 12 and under. Skate rentals are $4 and free learn-to-skate lessons are available.

There is a heated tent at the rink where you can warm up and a Dunkin Donut concession where you can buy hot chocolate, coffee, and doughnuts. The public bathrooms are just port-a-potties, but better public facilities are available in the shopping center.

As an added bonus for patrons living in the surrounding area, twelve towns are slated for local town appreciation weeks during which you will receive a $2 discount on each admission with proof of residency.

If this is your first time visiting Patriot Place with your children, be sure to visit Bass Pro Shops in the South retail center. It’s like a museum of natural history for local wildlife, and there are also some nature trails running behind the gargantuan store.

When spring eventually arrives and the ice rink is packed away, Patriot Place has more family entertainment surprises in the works. Check out what 5 Wits plans to open at this ever-growing and increasingly unique “shopping” destination.
